Bluespot ButterflyfishChaetodon plebeius
(Other names Bluebotch Butterflyfish, Blue-dash Butterflyfish)
The Bluespot Butterflyfish (Chaetodon plebeius) is a bright yellow fish with a blue horizontal dash on the upper sides, faint horizontal stripes run through the body. A black margin is displayed through the eye and a white edged black spot appears on the base of the caudal fin. Juveniles lack the blue spot situated on the sides of the adults. Adults are mostly found in pairs along coral reefs and in lagoons. Size: 15cm in lenght Diet: feed mainly on coral polyps, zoobenthos |
