Blueface Angelfish

In their juvenile stage the Blueface is very similar to other Angelfish with a black body and vertical stripes of white and blue continuing along their entire length from nose to caudal fin. Their outer body and fins are edged in bright blue. As they move into the adult stage they develop a distinct yellow band across their eyes, surrounded by a bright blue 'face mask'. Their pectoral, dorsal, breast and caudal fins are also yellow. They have a very distinct black spot margined in blue on the dorsal fin. Their body is made up of yellow and blue displayed in a mosaic pattern. Usually found on outer reef slopes, caves, channelled reefs and coral rich lagoons.

Diet: Sponges, Encrusting Organisms and Tunicates
