Blue RazorfishIniistius pavo
(Other names Peacock Razorfish)
Blue Razorfish (Iniistius pavo) Adults are blue with a white area below. Two large front dorsal spines are some times held erect above the head giving the fish a obvious protruding arm above the head. Juveniles vary in colour from white with dark brown vertical bars with black spots on the rear of the dorsal fin to brown a brown body with black and white blotches over the body. If approached the fish can dive into the sand to make it's escape, they also sleep buried in the sand. Size: 36cm in length (maximum) Diet: Crustaceans, & molluscs |
