Blue AngelfishPomacanthus semicirculatus

The Blue Angelfish (Pomacanthus semicirculatus) is one of the most wide spread Angelfish throughout Australia, the Blue Angelfish differ greatly in appearance from juvenile to adulthood. In its juvenile form the fish is black bodied with striking blue and white crescents across its entire body length with a blue edge that runs from the dorsal through the anal and ventral fins. As the fish matures the crescents give way to a mass of tiny blue spots that cover the main body which turns pale yellow to brown the head being darker with a bright yellow small mouth . It retains the striking blue edging across the dorsal anal and ventral fins. It also can be seen on the eyes and gill cover. Usually found in around reefs and rocky coastal areas.
