Black-spotted PufferfishArothron nigropunctatus
Males are generally yellow to white bodied on the lower half and bluish grey to brown on the upper half with numerous irregular black spots over the entire body. They also generally display a darker patch over the snout and eye area. Females bluish grey to brown bodied and they too display irregular black spots over the body and a darker patch over both the eye and snout area but have a distinct white band over the between these two points. Generally found in coral rich areas as this is their main food group. Size: 35 cm in length (Maximum) Diet: Coral, Crustaceans, mollusks, sponges & algae |
