Black-spot Goatfish

Parupeneus spilurus (also listed as Parupeneus signatus)

White bodied with two brownish horizontal stripes running along the side of the body. Easily recognised by the distinct black spot on the upper peduncle. Large adults usually display blue median fins and have small blue spots on the entire body length. Found singly or in small groups along estuaries and coastal reefs.

Size: 35 cm in length

Diet: zoobenthos
