Blackfin HogfishBodianus loxozonus
(Other names Eclipse Hogfish)
Yellow to orange bodied (paler underneath) with numerous white lines running vertically along the body (occasionally also break into small spots). It displays a large black uneven diagonal band/or saddle that runs across the caudal peduncle region and the base of the dorsal fin. The ventral fin and base of the anal fin is generally also black. Usually found solitary on and around drop offs, lagoons and seaward reefs. Size: Length 45cm (Maximum) Diet: Benthic Invertebrates |
