Banded Thicklip WrasseHemigymnus fasciatus
(Other names Five Banded Wrasse, Barred Thicklip)
Adults have a dark brown to black body with four distinct white vertical stripes starting from behind the pectoral find and running down to the tail. The head displays a colour of yellow to green with pinkish irregular lines. Juveniles are similar but the body is a dusky yellow to green, and the white stripes are very fine along the entire body length. Usually found in coral reefs. Size: 80cm in length Diet: molluscs, small crustaceans, echinoderms, benthic invertebrates, planktonic crustaceans (juveniles) |
