Sponge Gardens

Exmouth - WA
Sponge Gardens is more for the experienced diver as it is a drift dive. With a maximum depth of approx. 20-30m you are generally drifting along the sandy bottom. There is an abundance of Whip corals, Gorgonian fans , Feather stars and Sea apples to see. Sea apples are an animal which have numerous feathered arms with which they use to catch food and then bring down to their mouth (located in the centre of the body) to eat.....quite a fascination! The Sponge Gardens is a very unique dive location as it is home to a very high number of unusual species and forms and has a very diverse range of sponge garden habitats.
