Gove PeninsulaArnhem Land - NT
One of the most remote and untouched areas of Australia is the Gove Peninsula, it is the most eastern part of NT and is part of Arnhem Land. Access to the town of Nhulunbuy (where the dive charters operate from) is restricted to 4WD or Flight. The best time to dive this area is between the months of September to April when visibilty is at its peak. It is full of beautiful coral reefs and very large fish and the diving is pristine. Whales sharks, turtles, coral trout, eagle rays, giant maori wrasse, hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, manta rays and dolphins are just an example of the marine life that you will see here. A number of islands also offer great diving including Bremer, Bromby and Veronica Islands which are all just a boat ride away. |
