Bare Island

Botany Bay - NSW
The first thing I noticed when I got to Bare Island was the sheer amount of divers that were there gearing up. This is a very popular dive site and it's easy to see why! As shore dive Bare Island is really easy to access, you can choose to dive a few different sites here and depending on the conditions it may be best to 'pick the brains' of a local diver to see which dive you should do.

Max depth here is 18m the terrain has a lot of kelp covered rock giving way to sand the further you move away from the Island. A few caves and lots of over hangs close to Island are great fun to explore each one boasting more marine life than the last. Is a site where you are all most sure to see Weedy Seadragons, Blue Grouper and Port Jackson Sharks. It is also an excellent night dive.
